A 29-year-old female teacher had sex with a 16-year-old pupil because her husband ‘wasn’t giving it to her’, a court has heard.
Sarah Guazzo struck up a flirty relationship with the boy at a school in Townsville, Queensland in 2016, the court heard.
She asked him ‘have you ever thought of having sex with a teacher?’ before the pair began texting, a jury was told.

In one of the messages, she asked him ‘do ya wanna do something fun?’, the court heard.
Ms Guazzo then drove the boy to secluded locations on three occasions and gave him alcohol before they had sex, the jury was told.
She was charged with three counts of procuring a young person for carnal knowledge and was tried on Tuesday at Townsville District Court.
The offence is when someone ‘procures a person who is not an adult or is a person with an impairment of the mind’ to have sex.
According to the ABC, crown prosecutor Dominique Orr said: ‘She told [the student] how she and her husband hadn’t slept together in a while – she said he wasn’t giving it to her.’
Ms Orr admitted that the boy hoped the sex would happen and was ‘willing’ but claimed Ms Guazzo had manipulated him into it.
However, her defence barrister told the jury the boy had said under questioning that he felt ‘not at all’ taken advantage of.
He said the boy was sexually experienced and had treated the teacher like a piece of meat.
‘You might have got the impression that he was not virginal – quite an experienced practitioner in the art of love-making,’ he said.
The jury agreed that the boy knew exactly what he was doing and took only 15 minutes to find Ms Guazzo not guilty.
