An Uber driver was shot shortly after picking up two passengers at San Francisco International airport.
The female driver was driving westbound along the Interstate 380 in San Bruno when gunshots were fired at 11.10pm on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) confirmed.
The driver was shot in the neck and crashed the Toyota Camry just east of the El Camino Real exit local media report. She was taken to hospital where her injuries were described as not life-threatening.
The passengers were not injured in the collision or shooting.

Another car was shot multiple times but the people inside ran away before the highway patrol arrived.
CHP Officer Vu Williams said they were investigating the shooting.
It is the second shooting of an Uber driver in the space of two weeks in the Bay Area.
An Uber driver and two passengers had to be rushed to hospital when they were shot in a ‘targeted attack’ along the Interstate 880 in Oakland.
CHP officers arrived at the scene at around 4.15am following reports of a shooting in the southbound lanes near 23rd avenue.
The partygoers were travelling home when the shooters opened fire. It is not known why they were shot although the driver is was not the original target.
