Festive mum creates a magical ‘Candyland’ themed Christmas tree using budget buys – and reveals the simple secret to keeping it upright

An Aussie mum has created a Candyland themed Christmas tree and made some of her own decorations from scratch.

Mum Jasmina, from Sydney, revealed that the tree decorating took three weeks to complete as she made her own sprays and hundreds of quirky decorations. 

The festive mum made her Christmas ornaments using affordable supplies from the stores Riot and Spotlight.

She made all of the peppermint candies using 30cm foam discs from Riot and 20cm discs from Spotlight. The 10cm candies were made using baker’s twine.    

She also used her creativity when it came to creating the eye catching red ladders hanging off the tree.  

‘It’s a cage ladder for birds bought from a local dollar store that I painted red,’ she wrote.

‘I’d have to leave that tree up all year round, its too spectacular to take down,’ a woman commented.

The mum revealed that she bought some of ornaments from Kmart and Dollar king including $3 gingerbread men, $3 clay house and $2 snowmen.

Jasmina revealed that the trick to having lots of decorations and not making the tree fall over is by using ‘light weight’ ornaments and by ‘shoving them into the tree’.

She also bough the $2.00 snowmen featured on the tree from Dollar King

The Aussie mum declared online that she is simply obsessed with her tree and proud of what she had created
