The closure was not expected to affect the trial of Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman.

Guzman is reportedly being held in Brooklyn during the week for the duration of the trial, and only transported back to the Metropolitan Correction Center in Manhattan during the weekend.

His transport back and forth across the Brooklyn Bridge has caused massive security lockdowns in the lead up to the trial.
