A heartwarming photograph has emerged of Coronation Street legend Liz Dawn cradling her giggling great grand-daughter, just days before the soap actress died.
The beaming Corrie star looked a picture of happiness holding baby Rose in her arms in the one her last ever pictures.
Liz, 77, who died last Tuesday, was remembered on her grand-daughter Courtney Swan’s Facebook page alongside the photograph.

Courtney wrote: ‘My gran found so much joy from being a great-grandma. I am so blessed that my girls got to experience her infectious spirit and character.
‘She never lost her humour and wit throughout her illness and would always light up a room.’
The TV stalwart played Vera Duckworth for 34 years and became a much-loved television figure for her portrayal of the formidable yet witty, working class character.
Her funeral will be held on Friday October 5 at Salford Cathedral. Coronation Street has agreed to halt filming for the day to allow stars to attend the service.
She first appeared in Coronation Street in 1974 before her character moved into number nine along with husband Jack, played by the late Bill Tarmey.
After being diagnosed with emphysema, Dawn was written out of the soap in 2008 when Vera died in her sleep.

Two years later, she made a moving comeback as the much-loved Corrie resident.
Just before he passed away, Jack saw a vision of the wife who had spent years nagging him and they shared a last dance together.
Her family said in a statement after her death: ‘We are devastated and heartbroken at the passing of our much-loved wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother, the incredible Liz Dawn.

‘Liz died peacefully last night at home with her loving family around her. She has been the love, light and inspiration in our lives and we are bereft at her passing.’

Their statement said: ‘We have been blessed to have Liz in our lives, as she was such a kind, considerate and caring friend and colleague.
‘As Coronation Street’s Vera Duckworth for 34 years, Liz brought so much joy and happiness to so many. She was a wonderful actress who will forever be a true Coronation Street legend.’
