This is the horrific moment a house was set on fire by fireworks stored in the garage.

Sparks flicker across the inflamed driveway and the piercing noise of fireworks can be heard.

An electrician was wiring a house when he noticed the house down the street was on fire.

He called 911 and ran over before going inside the property. 

It remains unclear what caused the fire

The fireworks went off for at least 10 minutes and it was around 20 until the fire crew arrived, according to an electrian who was working on a house nearby

Sparks flew as flamed engulfed the property. Neighbour Mike Higgins said the fireworks were going ‘crazy’ and the fire truck ‘stopped about five houses down the street knowing what they were up against’

The construction worker said: ‘The fireworks went off for at least 10 minutes and it was about 20 min before firefighters arrived.

‘Turns out the homeowner was fishing with his son out in Alaska and was heading back home later that day.’

He moved the motorcycle away from the garage which then set the bottle rockets off, on August 29.

Neighbour Mike Higgins said: ‘The fireworks were going crazy out of the garage.

‘Projectiles coming at you. In fact the initial fire truck stopped about five houses down the street just not knowing what they were up against.’ 

Sam Troia, who lives a couple streets away, added: ‘I heard fireworks going off and many loud pops and I looked out my patio door and all of a sudden I saw plumes of smoke coming up.’ 

The fireworks went off for at least 10 minutes and it was about 20 before the firefighters arrived, according to the electrician. 

It remains unclear about what set the fireworks off.
