First look at Travis Fimmel’s new role in gripping Stan Original Series Black Snow about an investigation of a 30-year-old unsolved murder

Streaming giant Stan dropped the trailer for its upcoming thriller Black Snow, starring Travis Fimmel, on Wednesday. 

The American-based Vikings star returned to Australia to film his role in the gripping mini-series.

Travis, 43, sports a rugged look in the show, in which he plays a detective investigating a 30-year-old unsolved murder in North Queensland.

The trailer opens with a voiceover of Travis’ character discussing his work on the difficult case.

‘The biggest challenge with cold cases is finding out who people were back then,’ he says.

It then shows him speaking to local residents in a bid to separate the truth from lies.

Fimmel will star alongside Brooke Satchwell (Mr Inbetween), Alexander England (Alien: Covenant) and comedian Rob Carlton.

Other cast members include Kym Gyngell, Erik Thomson and rapper Ziggy Ramo, who is making his screen debut in the series.

The role of Detective Cormack will be a change of pace for Fimmel, a former Calvin Klein model who found fame on The History Channel series Vikings in 2013.

Fimmel is currently starring in the HBO Max sci-fi series Raised by Wolves.

The creative team for Black Snow includes creator Lucas Taylor (Harrow), Rosemary Blight (The Invisible Man), and co-producers Lois Randall and Kaylene Butler.

The show is produced by Sydney-based company Goalpost Pictures and is directed by Sian Davies (The Gloaming) and Matt Saville (Please Like Me).
