Five homes are on market on Stephen King’s Maine street

If you’ve ever wanted to live next door to the world’s most famous horror novelist, now is your chance.

Five homes on Steven King’s street of West Broadway in Bangor, Maine, have hit the market.

All of the historic homes are in prime location and range from $369,000 to $690,000.

The houses are just steps away from King’s historic red Victorian that sits on two acres and is worth $1.2million. He and his wife Tabitha purchased the home in 1979.

Real estate agents say some potential buyers mention that they would like to be his neighbor. Some, they believe, are even coming to check out the homes for sale just to get a peak at King.

‘There is something to that — living next to someone famous,’ said Lisa Caron, real estate agent for one of the five homes.

But there may be some downfall to living next to a celebrity. Several times a day King fans pull up in front of the author’s home to snap photos.

However that doesn’t seem to be the reason for the houses going on sale. The owners of one the homes said they’ve raised their kids and are looking to downsize.

And there’s more appeal to this neighborhood than King. West Broadway is in a neighborhood with broad streets and beautiful historic homes. It’s also in the central part of Bangor, near the airport and golf course.
