Fixer Upper’s ‘Little Shack on the Prairie’ hits the market for $400,000

Chip and Joanna Gaines fans now have the chance to own their very own Fixer Upper — with the fixing-up already all done.

In season four, episode 16 of the HGTV show, Chip, 44, and Joanna, 41, transformed a nothing-from-nothing old shack into a stunning four-bedroom, two-bathroom farmhouse for the show’s executive producer, Michael Matsumoto.

But now Matsumoto and his family of six are moving and putting the Crawford, Texas house up for sale for $400,000.

Remember this? In 2017, Chip and Joanna Gaines transformed this ‘Little Shack on the Prairie’ on an episode of Fixer Upper

The house, dubbed the ‘Little Shack on the Prairie,’ was one of the biggest challenges the home renovating couple ever faced.

A piece of them: Chip, 44, and Joanna, 41, pictured with the Matsumotos, put a lot of work into the house, and their producer, Michael, said it was 'perfect' for his family

‘We couldn’t believe it when the Matsumotos chose this old shack to be their home.

What started as a run-down shack with decaying wood and a broken roof was soon turned into a beautiful white home with a patio, pretty shutters, and plants.

According to the realtor’s description, it has tall windows, shiplap, and bamboo floors, a kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, a waterfall island, and backyard space.

The master suite has sliding barn doors, floating shelves, and a claw foot tub, and there are garden beds, a large playset, a rock climbing wall, hanging planters, and a basketball court on the 1.02 acres of land.

‘A huge thank you to the Matsumoto family who trusted us to let us transform their shack into a beautiful family home! We hope the Matsumotos are happy here for years to come!’

It only lasted two years for the family, though, once they realized they needed to be closer to nearby Waco, Texas.

‘It was built perfectly for us,’ Matsumotos told Today. ‘Every play date we’ve ever had at our house, every parent has called it a kid’s paradise.’

Though they have been renting it on Airbnb, they’ve now decided to sell.

‘We just like the idea of a family being in it,’ Matsumotos said.
