A Florida couple found a dead frog in their glass of water at a Waffle House restaurant

A Florida couple were left feeling frightened and unrefreshed after they found a dead frog in their beverage while out for brunch.

The nauseating incident took place November 5 at the Tallahassee Waffle House located on 3090 Walden Rd.

‘We were served a WHOLE FROG in our water today. My husband drank from the glass before he noticed the frog floating around in the ice,’ horrified wife, Claire Sheats, wrote in her poor Google review for the restaurant.

‘The staff did not offer us anything more than a ‘sorry about that guys’ – we promptly left and will not be going back to this location,’ she said.

Waffle House spokesperson Pat Warner said corporate is currently ‘working with the local operators to determine the facts,’ while speaking in a statement.

‘Based on what our District Manager saw at the time and after reviewing the video, there are some issues we are looking into.

‘Serving quality food and delivering a quality experience are responsibilities we take seriously, and we will continue to review this matter,’ Warner concluded.

Sheats has since filed a complaint on the matter to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, according to Tallahassee.com.

After an initial inspection a few days later, three ‘high-priority’ warnings were issued for the diner as well as eight others.

‘Some of the warnings included food storage temperature violations and refrigerator drawers not being maintained in good repair,’ the newspaper reported.

In a separate inspection late this week, the Waffle House location had been cleared for all high-priority warnings – as well as three others.
