A Florida daycare worker has been arrested after four toddlers suffered broken legs in one day.

Christina Marie Curtis has been charged with four felony counts of neglect of a child that resulted in great bodily harm.

The 25-year-old was looking after the youngsters at the Kids Discovery Learning Center in Valparaiso.

All the injured children were boys aged between 13 and 21 months who were fine during the morning but later in the day were having difficulty standing or walking.

Medics determined they had all suffered leg fractures following the incident on May 21 in which she was allegedly seen on CCTV ‘rapidly jerking’ one boy in the air.

Curtis told officers she believed the children either sustained the injuries at home or in the playground, according to a police report.

She now faces four felony child neglect charges and has been banned from being around children without supervision, according to Northwest Florida Daily News.

Curtis was released on $4,000 bail last month and under the terms of her release, she cannot have unsupervised contact with any child or be employed at child care facilities or schools.

The report said: ‘Upon returning to pick them up in the afternoon, the children were showing signs of distress and could not stand or walk.

‘The children were medically evaluated and each was diagnosed with fractures to their legs.’

A mother of one of the boy told Curtis to leave her son inside as he was suffering from a rash but she still took him outside and he was covered in dirt.

She the NWF Daily News: ‘When I picked him up he had dirt all in his hair.

‘I don’t know if they let him crawl around out there or what. It took the day care three days to give me any kind of explanation.’

Her child, who was the least injured of the four boys, suffered a hairline fracture and now seemed to be healing well.
