A Florida man has been arrested after he allegedly attacked a man with a samurai sword during a fight over a second-hand wheelbarrow.

Curtis Miller, 54, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree attempted murder on Monday, two months after the shocking incident.

Police claim Miller was searching through a pile of trash outside a vacant home in Oakland Park on July 15, when a jogger by the name of Todd Beavers also stopped to search through the discarded items.

Beavers found a black plastic wheelbarrow that he decided would be useful, and decided to take it home.

However, Miller believed he had first dibs over the items and exchanged words with Beavers – who decided to leave with the wheelbarrow anyway.

Beavers was jogging home when he noticed the man – who police now believe was Miller – running after him with a samurai sword in his hand. It’s unclear whether the weapon also came from the pile of trash.

Beavers told WSVN after the incident: ‘I turned behind me, and the [the assailant] had a sword out, chasing me, so I just kept running’.

The man made it to the front lawn of his home, where his surveillance camera captured a violent fight which ensued.

The shocking footage shows the man authorities believe to be Miller trying to slash Beavers with the samurai sword as they wrestle for the wheelbarrow.

Eventually, the assailant runs off without the cart, before police are called.

Despite nearly losing his life over the second-hand item, Beavers no longer owns the black wheelbarrow.

Surveillance video captured a woman later taking the cart from the front of Beavers’ home, alleging she was the original owner.

Beavers told Fox News that he now regrets ever stopping on his morning jog to look through the pile of trash.

‘I really regret it… What did I get myself into for a stupid cart? I don’t even need it. I just felt really stupid about it,’he said.
