Florida man is charged with murder after strangling his wife

A mother was strangled and stabbed to death by her husband in front of her eight-year-old son who desperately tried to call 911 to save her.

Ty’nell Lindsey, 38, was found dead and covered in blood by police, who arrested Jason Lindsey, 36, for second-degree murder in their Orlando, Florida home.

When authorities arrived at the apartment they found Lindsey unresponsive lying on the closet floor of the master bedroom with her husband walking out wearing blood stained clothing, an affidavit stated.

Deputies said Jason Lindsey told them that his wife confronted him because she found a condom in his vehicle and she suspected he was cheating. 

He claimed she grabbed a knife during the argument and scratched her husband’s face with her nails, the report said. 

Lindsey said he wrestled the knife away from his wife but said he ‘kinda lost it’ and began strangling her with one hand while stabbing her with the other.

Tragically, the young boy heard the screaming and then witnessed her death. He dialled 911 but police were not able to arrive in time to stop the killing.

Jason Lindsey claimed he was defending himself, telling police that Ty’nell Lindsey had attacked him with a knife in the past.

Ty’nell Lindsey’s cousin, Jermaine Gwinn, said there’s no justification for the crime.

‘You took her away from her family man. She wasn’t just his wife, she was a mother, she was a sister, she was a cousin, she was an aunt,’ Gwinn told Orlando Sentinel. 

Adding: ‘My cousin is a loving person, she was a loving person. Don’t get it twisted her life is going to live through us.’
