Missing Florida mother-of-two and Iraq veteran was found alive two weeks after vanishing moments before telling her family she feared her ex-boyfriend.
Rachel Schwartz, 33, was found safe on Tuesday afternoon after she was last seen in Ring camera footage leaving her ex-boyfriend John Scorah’s home in Waimauma with luggage on January 31.
Schwartz’s family believed she left Scorah’s home to check into a veteran crisis center in Spring Hill but later said they don’t think she ever made it there. It’s unclear where she was found.
The veteran lived in Florida before moving to Minnesota late last year in attempt to escape Scorah. She was visiting the sunny state to see her two children from a previous relationship.
It’s unclear where Schwartz went after leaving Scorah, but her last text to her dad revealed she wanted to move back home and feared her ex-boyfriend, according to her family.

The footage captured Schwartz walking away from the home as a man in the background shouted, ‘Rachel I have everything you need, I’m asking you to stay one more day’
Scorah’s ex Joel Dunn, who is the father of her two sons, shared the veteran was stressed out leading up to her disappearance.
Dunn last saw Schwartz around January 27 when she went over to his Spring Hill’s home in distress over whether to move back to Florida to be close to her sons and enroll in a veteran affairs course.
‘When she left where I was, she told me that her boyfriend was coming to pick her up,’ Dunn told Fox News.
Dunn didn’t hear from Schwartz after she left his home and neither did her mom who tried to contact her from Minnesota.
‘That was not like Rae’s personality at all,’ Dunn told the news outlet. ‘She always stayed in touch with everyone, especially her mom.’
Dunn met Scorah once about three years ago and referred to him as a ‘normal guy’.
‘She did not seem uncomfortable when I saw him,’ Dunn said.
Schwartz was supposed to head back to Minnesota on February 4.

It’s unclear why Schwartz went to Scorah’s home, but chilling video from a Ring camera showed her leaving on January 31 with a duffle bag and a suitcase.
‘Rachel I have everything you need, I’m asking you to stay one more day,’ a man’s voice can be heard as Schwartz walked away.
Scorah was arrested in April 2022 for battery but the charges were later dropped, according to Fox News. Documents revealed he hit Schwartz in the face and left a bruise.
At the time, Scorah was forced to give up his fire arm.
Schwartz’s family wasn’t immediately available and requested privacy as they work through ‘unanswered questions’ with the veteran.
‘We are so happy and overwhelmed by the amount of support,’ Elizabeth Schrupp, Schwartz’s sister, wrote on Facebook.
‘Please respect our privacy at this time until we are able to have contact with our sister. We still have unanswered questions and the story is not over yet!
Schrupp previously claimed her sister sent an alarming message to her dad claiming she was afraid of her ex-boyfriend.
‘Her last message to my dad was that she wanted to come home and she was afraid of her ex. The same day her phone and social media account went silent,’ Schrupp wrote on Facebook.
Before moving to Minnesota around late-October, Schwartz completed a PTSD Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program

Schwartz was active on social media during her trip to Florida, posting several photos. Her last post before she mysteriously disappeared showed her posing for the camera while eating.
A few weeks before she shared a photo of herself roaming around the Sunshine State with a caption that read: ‘I love finding open fields in FL. It’s rare now days and one day this peace in earth may not be here.’
Before moving to Minnesota around late-October, Schwartz completed a PTSD Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program, according to her Facebook.
‘I highly recommended written exposure therapy for those who have PTSD and have struggled like I have,’ she previously wrote. ‘And it doesn’t end here. This is only the beginning!’
Schwartz is described as a five-feet and two-inches tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.
