Patresha Isidore, 24, drove down the I-95 in Florida at a speed of at least 70mph with her ex-boyfriend on the hood

A woman seen driving along a Florida highway at 70mph with her on-again-off-again boyfriend clinging for life to the hood has revealed why she kept driving .

Patresha Isidore, 24, said she and boyfriend Junior Francis had broken up about eight months ago, but were still living together, and had a daughter together.

Isidore claimed to 7 News Miami she had been heading out to pick their child up, but Francis did not want her to and flung himself onto the hood of the car instead.

‘I had to go get my child. I wasn’t going to deal with any foolishness,’ she said, explaining why she saw no choice but to call his bluff and drive off.

Isidore was caught on video driving about 70mph along the Interstate 95, with a calm looking Francis clinging to the hood.

She claims she had given him the opportunity to get off the hood by pulling over, but he declined to move, so she continued driving.

Francis told ABC he had needed the car when Isidore took it, and had jumped on the hood to stop her taking it – to no avail.

‘[I held on] with one hand, and [with] the other hand I’m on the phone, listening to hear what is going on with authorities.’

Francis said he was convinced he would die in the incident.

‘This woman is going to kill me,’ he said. ‘She is really out to kill me.’

In shocking video of the incident, captured by Daniel Midah and shared to Twitter with the caption: ‘When she says she’s done with you but you’re not really done with her’, Isidore can also be seen on the phone.

The mother later revealed she was filming Francis, who she was begging to get off her car as she drove, while he looked at her with a blank face.

When Francis finally did get inside the car, the pair drove to Southwest 39th Street and 32nd Avenue, in West Park, where Isidore was arrested.

She was charged with culpable negligence, a misdemeanor, and was bonded out.
