This is the tense moment a fold-up bike rider gets very heated with a pedestrian over being in the cycle lane.

The two men, both in blue-buttoned down shirts, were seeing bickering and nearly getting into a punch-up in Manhattan, New York.

As the argument boils over the pedestrian grabs the chinstraps of the cyclist’s helmet and appears to threaten to throw a coffee over him.

‘Let it go,’ yells the rider who can be seen gesturing that he will punch the pedestrian when a woman passing by yells ‘HEY!’ and tries to break-up the altercation.

When approaching the men she yells ‘Get the f*** out of here’ at the cyclist to which he spits back, ‘Shut-up!’ more loudly – all while the pair continue to grapple with one another.

A woman passing by told the cyclist to 'Get the f*** out of here' to which he spat back 'Shut up' and carried on with the aggressive argument

After another person yells, ‘Calm mother******* down,’ the cyclist’s anger bubbles over as he yells back ‘I had the light.’

‘Oh my god, you could have run me over, just saying,’ the pedestrian said while walking away.

Pursuing the man with his white-frame pushbike between his legs, he shouts ‘Yeah, exactly’ and follows him over the crossing.

‘I will destroy you,’ the cyclist shouts, as the argument continues onto the other side of the street.

The footage ends with the ride yelling ‘I don’t give a f*** what I do.’

So far, New York has seen double the amount of cyclist deaths than it did in 2018 despite only being eight months into the year.

The total is now up to 18 after an incident in Coney Island, Brooklyn, which happened on Monday.

Cyclist Jose Alzorriz, 52, died after a collision allegedly involving a teenage driver who ran a red light and caused the fatal crash.

Umar Baig, 18, was in a grey Sedan that collided with a blue Honda that careered into Alzorriz who was waiting at the crossroads.

The victim sustained injuries to his head from the collision and was trapped under the SUV.

Bystanders tried to rescue the man without luck and Alzorriz later died in hospital.

One passerby explained: ‘He didn’t stand a chance,’ due to how ‘fast’ the car was travelling.

Baig has since been released, while officers decide whether to charge him.

He was not under the influence of drugs or suspended from driving at the time of the incident, police confirmed.
