Foo Fighters rock the house and record studio album in haunted mansion

Apparently Foo Fighter don’t just want to rock their fans with their 10 studio album, Medicine To Midnight, they also to roll out the freaks and frights and blood and guts in the style of a classic horror-comedy flick.

On Friday, the first trailer dropped for the upcoming horror film, Studio 666, which pits Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters in the fight of their lives as they battle monsters and demons in a makeshift recording studio.

Studio 666 is described as a fictional take on the events that occurred when the Foo Fighters recorded their most recent album at a haunted mansion in the Encino neighborhood of Los Angeles.

First taste: Dave Grohl and his band the Foo Fighters star in the first official trailer for their upcoming horror comedy film Studio 666

Off the top, the teaser has the look of a classic music documentary, with the band’s roadies loading gear out of trucks and into the haunted digs.

The band then make the short walk up a steep winding staircase out front of the mansion.

Moments later, we see Grohl strapped with his guitar and headphones, while rocking out some power chords, while drummer Taylor Hawkins keeps the beat with fanatical zeal.

After the visual introduction of the band, the graphic ‘now recording’ flashes on the screen, which quickly transitions to Grohl sitting behind the recording console adjusting some of the many buttons, including the glaring red ‘record’ button, signaling it’s time to begin recording music.

But then, once an image of an old reel-to-reel machine is shown, the trailer goes from rock and roll doc to ghoulish horror flick.

Foo Fighters have been known for adding oddball charm and comedy to their music videos since forming back in 1994, following the tragic death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

So it makes perfect sense that Grohl, the former drummer for Nirvana, would conceive the storyline for the film. Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes are credited with writing the screenplay and BJ McDonnell served as the director.

Along with Grohl and the other five members of the Foo Fighters, Studio 666 also stars Jeff Garlin, Will Forte, and Whitney Cummings.

Studio 666 is scheduled to rock theaters on February 25, 2022.
