Foodie divides critics with a peanut butter and jelly cheese toastie – so would you try it?

A foodie has left thousands divided after sharing her questionable recipe for a peanut butter and jelly cheese toastie.

Yumna, the American food blogger behind Feel Good Foodie, shared a video of the controversial combination on Instagram, describing it as ‘the best of both worlds’.      

To make the hybrid creation, Yumna begins by smearing a slice of bread with peanut butter and another with strawberry jam.

She then sprinkles a layer of shredded cheese directly onto the peanut butter coated slice, closes the sandwich up and cooks in the fry pan. 

Finally once golden brown, she removes the sandwich from the pan and slices into it revealing the gooey cheese layer.  

Yumna added that the perfect cheese for the treat is Gouda as it is ‘nutty, mild and melty’; cheddar works just as well as a backup option.

The foodie’s non-traditional toastie has gained attention online from over 30,000 people.  

Thousands have left comments and many have shared their mixed feelings on the sweet, but savoury snack.
