Foolish robber tries to hold up a gas station and fails

A foolish armed robber got his comeuppance when he brought a knife to a gunfight.

The man was picked up on CCTV entering a gas station in Newport, Michigan, earlier this week. 

He holds up a large knife to the cashier, seemingly demanding cash, but the calm member of staff backs away before reaching under the counter to grab a gun which sends the criminal scurrying for the exit.

The suspect came into the BP Gas Station around 10.40pm on December 18, 2017, wearing a green bandana over his face. 

Surveillance video shows he had a large knife in one hand, and that he placed a paper bag on the counter and asked for the money.

The cashier got up as if he was going to get the money – but then pulled out a gun from under the counter and pointed it at the suspect.

The suspect is seen on camera running away.
