A car stopped at a traffic light in Leeds has caught a pedestrian’s near-death experience when a speeding car came within inches of hitting them.
Driver Michael Andrews was driving on York Road, near Gipton, in Leeds when the dashcam in his car caught the terrifying moment.
The footage shows vehicles, including his own, stopped at a set of traffic lights with two pedestrians crossing the street. The traffic light is red.
Seconds after the lights turn green, a white Ford Focus appears in the right hand lane, speeding through the crossing and narrowly missing the two pedestrians.
Mr Andrews, who is from Garforth, said the right hand lane was meant for traffic turning right only.
He said: ‘I did not see him [the driver] coming so it was a big shock.
‘I was amazed he missed both pedestrians. On another day that could easily have been a fatality.’

The incident with the white Ford Focus, pictured, took place at a traffic light crossing on York Road, near Gipton, in Leeds.
According to the footage, the York Road incident took place this year on July, 31.
In recent months Mr Andrews said he has captured several incidents of bad driving on his dashcam.
Of this latest incident he said: ‘Police should have a word with this ****er before he kills someone.’
