Footage emerges police pursuing three teens in stolen BMW

Dramatic footage has emerged of the moment police chased down a luxury car allegedly stolen by three teenagers in Queensland. 

Officers pursued the BMW four-wheel-drive after the driver failed to pull over on Warrego Highway near Gatton at around 9.50am on Thursday morning.

The vehicle instead drove away at high speeds, ramming into chasing police cars and zooming through a spike strip during the dramatic pursuit.

A 17-year-old boy fled the vehicle after the car slowed while moving through Helidon and was arrested. 

A 15-year-old boy who had been a passenger then jumped into the driver’s seat and accelerated away on the Warrego Highway before police laid road spikes. 

Just after 10am the car ran over the tire deflation device and the car was followed at low speeds before coming to a stop 20 minutes later, 7 News footage shows. 

Three officers received minor injuries when the motorist then allegedly reversed the car into the officers attending the scene before stopping again.

The 15-year-old driver, who suffered minor injuries from broken glass, and an 18-year-old girl were arrested. 

A 17-year-old Kingston man was charged with a number of offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a vehicle, assault or obstruct police, disobeying the speed limit, failing to stop motor vehicle, unlicensed driving, stealing and disqualified driving. 

A 15-year-old Caboolture South boy was also charged with a string of offences including dangerous operation of a vehicle while adversely affected, obstruct police, failure to provide a specimen of breath for analysis and driving unlicensed.

An 18-year-old Windsor woman was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle, obstruct police and failure to stop motor vehicle.
