Footage reveals why David Warner’s innings in Pakistan Test might NOT have beat Don Bradman’s record

Damning footage reveals why David Warner’s amazing innings in Pakistan Test might NOT have been enough to beat Don Bradman’s record

  • Warner made an unbeaten 335 not out in Australia’s only bat in their innings
  • The record breaking score is one point ahead of Don Bradman’s which is 334
  • However, footage shows Warner failed to ground his foot during his run

Questions have been raised over the legitimacy of David Warner’s record-breaking triple-century against Pakistan.

Warner made an unbeaten 335 not out in during Australia’s in their innings-and-48-run win against Pakistan in the second Test in Adelaide.

His score beat Don Bradman’s previous Australian test record of 334.

However, doubts have been cast over the score after damning footage showed the 33-year-old failed to ground his foot behind the popping crease for one of his runs.

Warner is seen running towards the non-striker’s end and he swings his foot above the line instead of putting his foot down.

He then returns to the striker’s end where two runs were recorded.

According to the rules, the run should have been recorded as one, giving Warner a total score of 334.

‘He edged the ball down, which was going to the boundary and then it somehow pulled up,’ sports Journalist Robert ‘Crash’ Craddock said on Fox Sports.

‘Warner pulls up one short. One short, so Warner made 334.

‘I am staggered by that… I can’t believe it.’

The left-hander was awarded player of the series and player of the Adelaide Test.

Warner was involved in the ball tampering scandal back in 2018 where he was issued a one-year ban from cricket.
