Footage shows mastiff and baby chimp monkeying around 

Heartwarming footage of a large dog and a baby chimp monkeying around has gone viral.

A video of the inter-species play date, posted by the Zoological Wildlife Foundation in Miami on January 11, has already amassed 10 million views on Facebook.  

‘Its always amazing to see two different species love each other and get along so well,’ the Wildlife Foundation stated on its Facebook page, adding: ‘There is much to learn from them.’

The footage shows the baby chimp in a pink shirt – with ‘Mr. Cool’ emblazoned on the front – playing with the a giant brown and beige speckled mastiff atop a couch.

The two friends appear to have a trusting relationship, gently tussling with one another as they engage in horse play.

 ‘People need to give more “scary” dog breeds a chance,’ one person wrote on the organization’s Facebook feed. ‘[My] dog Leo is an Italian mastiff just like the one in this video and he is the sweetest most cuddly dog.’
