- Footage has emerged of the moment police taser a man in a health food store
- Incident occurred after the man tried to walk onto the Gold Coast set of a movie
- Kurt Anthony Lane was initially charged with six offences but five were dropped
A man who was tasered by police on the Gold Coast last year has fronted Southport Magistrates Court and had four counts of obstructing police and one count of wilful damage dropped.
Kurt Anthony Lane walked onto a movie set during filming at Southport in November 2017.
The Gold Coast Bulletin obtained footage of the incident which shows Lane on the floor of a health food store with police pointing a taser at him.

Lane gets to his feet and, after a tense few moments where he and police stare each other down, he then turns to walk away.
At this point police crash tackle Lane and repeatedly taser him.
During the struggle bottles are knocked over and smash with both the police and Lane receiving cuts.
Defence lawyer Campbell MacCallum told Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday, ‘I am not sure how it became necessary for a taser to be deployed when a person is on the ground and subdued.’
‘It was an example of a small offence escalating into violence when police dealing tactics where heavy handed and unnecessary,’ he said.
Lane was initially charged with a total of six offences, however, all were dropped apart from one count of obstructing police for which he was fined $400.
The footage emerges following another incident in Melbourne where a 16-year-old’s ankle was seriously injured following a run-in with police.
The boy’s father disputes the police version of events and claims that police used unnecessary force when apprehending the teen.
