He was also found to have two bald tyres on his white Mercedes C250 vehicle at the time of the incident on July 19 last year.

The smash happened on the M4 carriageway westbound, at the Leigh Delamere services near Chippenham.

He was also disqualified from driving for 29 months, after which time he will need to retake his driving test. He must pay a victim surcharge of £140.

‘He is a dangerous driver who had no regard for other road users. This was a busy time of day on a busy stretch of the M4.

‘Goodfellow put other road users lives at risk, not just by driving at excess speed, but also undertaking vehicles which led to a collision and left an innocent driver with injuries.

‘Thankfully, these injuries were minor although the incident has no doubt really affected her.

‘Looking at the dash cam footage provided by a witness, it is so lucky that nobody was more seriously injured.’
