Singer Conrad Sewell’s renditon of Advance Australia Fair ahead of the AFL grand final has been slammed by fans online.
The 31-year-old singer belted out the tune in front of a sell-out crowd at the Melbourne Cricket Ground before the match kicked off at 2.30pm on Saturday.
‘That was a ghastly national anthem! #AFL,’ one fan tweeted.

The singer was also slammed for his performance at the Brownlow Medal ceremony on Monday night.
He performed the song Remind Me during an in memoriam segment.
Earlier in the Brownlow broadcast, Conrad sang Healing Hands over a montage of highlights from the most recent AFL season, which some viewers thought was ‘weird’.
Conrad rose to fame in 2014 when he partnered up with Norwegian DJ Kygo for his viral hit Firestone, which has 663 million YouTube views.
