A former child star has walked free from prison after she was caught with a sizeable quantity of crystal meth and ecstasy in a police raid last year.

Amelia Jacobs, 29, was arrested with her boyfriend Punyawat Hirantecha, 41, on September 19, 2017 after police stormed their residence in Bangkok.

Seventy grams of crystal meth and 16 tablets of ecstasy were seized in the operation before they were charged with drug possession with the intent to sell.

According to The Nation the actress was also allegedly using drugs.

However, after spending nearly 11 months in prison, Jacobs, who always maintained her innocence, walked free today with a three-month suspended jail term and a mere 24 hours of community service.    

Her boyfriend however wasn’t so lucky as he today begins his staggering 25 years and fourth month sentence behind bars, after pleading guilty to the crime.

According to Coconuts Bangkok, Jacobs’ lawyer, Sitra Biabangkert, said that she now plans to focus on charity work and raising awareness about the consequences of using drugs

Aside from being crowned Miss Teen Thai in 2006, Jacobs is most well-known for her starring role on the Thai television drama Thida Wanorn, which translates to ‘Monkey’s Daughter’.
