Former Home and Away star Bonnie Sveen reveals she’s pregnant with twins

Former Home and Away star Bonnie Sveen, 29, has revealed she is pregnant with identical twins.

The actress told New Idea on Monday that she and her partner of three-and-a-half years, Nathan Gooley, initially panicked when they learned the news at 19 weeks.

‘My absolute first reaction when she said we were having twins: I cried. I cried for a while,’ she said.

‘I was thinking, ‘How am I going to do this?’ It’s our first baby and now it’s two. The pregnancy, the risk, the birth itself – everything.’

The Secret Daughter star is 30 weeks pregnant and due to give birth to her first children in early October, but she will not know the genders until they are born.

She and Nathan, who is an assistant director at OOW Productions, had planned to fall pregnant this year.

In 2015, Bonnie sparked engagement rumours when she was spotted flashing a diamond sparkler on her ring finger in Sydney, however, she denied it at the time.

On Monday, she told New Idea that she and Nathan hope to one day walk down the aisle.

‘We’re not engaged but that’ll be delightful down the line. We’ll have two ring bearers or flower girls!’ she said.

Bonnie, who played Ricky Sharpe on Home and Away, once said playing a pregnant woman on the soap improved her acting skills.

‘Playing pregnant with the prosthetic belly helped me grow performance-wise,’ she told The Daily Telegraph in 2015.

‘Playing pregnant with the prosthetic belly helped me grow performance-wise.

‘Ricky already has a strong, earthy energy to her. She doesn’t really need grounding, but it helped my performance to change balance by changing my body.

She added: ‘It was fun to play. The belly was not so much weighty as unwieldy. It’s like a onesie, that does up between your legs. So it was a little … um …strange, to have these little steel things right where they shouldn’t be.’
