Former Home and Away star Kate Ritchie has been granted an interim AVO against husband-of-nine-years Stuart Webb after ‘incident at the couple’s Randwick home’

Kate Ritchie, 41, has been granted an interim apprehended violence order (AVO) against husband-of-nine-years Stuart Webb, 39.

New South Wales criminal court records show the former Home And Away star’s full name – Katherine Leigh Webb – on the court listing.

The matter between the married couple will be heard at Waverley Court on Thursday, October 24.

The listing states the AVO is being taken out by a Constable Dean Hodges on behalf of Katherine Leigh Ritchie against Stuart Broughton Webb.

A NSW Police spokesman confirmed to The Daily Telegraph that they were ‘investigating an incident at a home in Randwick on Thursday’.

They added the investigation was ongoing, but no charges had been laid.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Kate Ritchie’s management for comment.

The spouses, who share five-year-old daughter Mae, have faced persistent split rumours since 2016.

What is an AVO?

An AVO is an Apprehended Violence Order. It is an order to protect victims of domestic violence when they are fearful of future violence or threats to their safety. They are sometimes called restraining orders or protection orders.

Former NRL player Stuart faced court in April this year after being arrested for drink driving near their home in Randwick.

It was the former athlete’s second drink-driving offence in the past 10 years.

Meanwhile, just last month the pair were spotted on a rare public outing together in Sydney looking tense and strained.

The sighting came after unconfirmed reports the couple’s marriage was experiencing ‘undue stress’.

In May, Woman’s Day reported that Stuart’s drink-driving arrest in March had left the pair ‘exposed’, but Kate was trying ‘keep their personal life private’.

A source supposedly told the magazine the legal dramas had ‘been hard’ on the publicity-shy former soap actress.

Kate has previously denied rumours her marriage was in trouble, branding them ‘baseless’.

On Saturday night, she attended the 2019 Australian Commercial Radio Awards at Brisbane’s Royal International Convention Centre without her partner.

The next day she appeared downcast as she arrived at the Queensland airport to check-in for her flight home to Sydney.
