Former Lloyds Bank boss Antonio Horta-Osorio is back – at Mediobanca – months after leaving Credit Suisse

Former Lloyds Bank boss Antonio Horta-Osorio is back – at Mediobanca. 

The Portuguese businessman, pushed out of his role as chairman of Credit Suisse this year after breaking Covid isolation rules to attend Wimbledon in 2021, joins the Italian bank as a senior adviser next month. 

He will team up with colleagues looking to expand the European business. It is thought he can help win deals and acquire rivals.

Horta-Osorio, credited with turning Lloyds around in his decade there, is said to have bagged several other positions at companies, yet to be announced. 

He was criticised for Lloyds’ bungled compensation scheme for victims of the HBOS Reading fraud.
