‘Let’s get rid of her!’ Former MAFS star Sean Thomsen signs the petition calling for Mel Schilling to be sacked from the show

Married At First Sight ‘expert’ Mel Schilling is in deep water after a petition calling for her to be sacked drew more than 43,000 signatures on Tuesday.

And that day, former MAFS star Sean Thomsen went public with his support for the petition.

Sean, 35, posted a screenshot of the Change.org petition titled ‘Mel Schilling from Married at First Sight sacked or proper apology!’

Sean captioned the screenshot, ‘The old earpiece messed up this time! But still let [sic] p**s her off!’

Sean also posted a screen grab from the Change.org petition which showed he had signed it, and added the  hashtags #Metoo and #MAFS.

Mel had lectured Bronson Norrish over his use of the C-word on Sunday’s episode but failed to address Ines Basic’s ‘abusive’ behaviour, sparking a viewer backlash.

And the Change.org petition demanding that she is either sacked from the program or issues a public apology is rapidly gaining momentum, with it already reaching nearly 44,000 signatures.

The petition calls ‘so-called expert’ Mel to make a formal apology or be sacked for the show.

‘Married At First Sight’s so-called expert Mel Schilling lashed out at Bronson for using foul language,’ the petition states.

‘This so-called psychologist is a biased feminist who has made it clear that she thinks it’s OK for a woman to behave the way Ines does.

‘Bronson has been a victim of [Ines’] verbal and emotional abuse all week, and the second he decides it’s enough, “expert” Mel comes in and says he shouldn’t be using that language.

‘The thing is, Ines is exactly what he said, a nasty, abusive piece of work.

‘Mel needs to make a formal apology or be sacked from the show. The show doesn’t need a one-sided feminist as an “expert”.’

In a statement on Monday, Channel Nine publicly supported Mel.

MAFS’ executive producer John Walsh told Daily Mail Australia: ‘There were 12 women in the room that night and a man used language that was highly insulting and inflammatory in reference to his wife.

‘Mel acted in the only way appropriate by calling out the language – language that is not ever considered acceptable anywhere, anytime.

‘We are shocked at the backlash Mel has received for defending another woman.’

Interestingly, Sean Thomsen had a controversial stint on MAFS last year.

He was paired with Blair Rachael but later enjoyed a fling with fellow contestant Tracey Jewel.

He has previously said that dating Tracey, 36, is his ‘one regret’ about the show.
