Former NBA star Michael Jordan joins Ryder Cup WAGs in cheering on their partners as action begins in France

  • The 42nd edition of the Ryder Cup officially got underway on Friday morning

Thousands of golfing fans have made their way to France for the 42nd edition of the Ryder Cup this week and it seems a number of celebrities and famous faces have followed them. 

Action got underway at Le Golf National on the outskirts of Paris on Friday morning and there were some stars among the masses, as well as a number of Ryder Cup WAGs cheering their partners on.

Former basketball star Michael Jordan was pictured taking in Friday morning’s fourballs and looked delighted to be at the course.

The six-time NBA champion watched the action with a beaming smile and even embraced one lucky fan as he made his way around the course. He was also captured peaking over the barrier of one of the many grandstands around the course as he waited for some action.

Former Chelsea captain John Terry was not at the course yet but did post a video of him flying over to France on Instagram. The ex-England defender used a golfing emoji in his post on Friday morning as he makes his way there.

The wives and girlfriends of the players were also out in full force as their partners began their golfing duties. 

Erica Stoll, Grace Barber and Katie Poulter ensured there was a large European presence on one hole as they stood together to watch someone play their shot.
