Former squaddie, 32, who headbutted his ex-girlfriend gives two fingers outside court

An ex-soldier who headbutted a mother in front of her children because she ‘under-cooked a chicken Kiev’ stuck two fingers up outside court as he avoided a jail sentence.

Scott Howell, 32, changed his WhatsApp profile to a picture of him in a grey suit, smiling as he makes the rude gesture outside Glasgow Sheriff Court.

The former Army reserve soldier admitted to assaulting his ex-girlfriend Michelle Mundt, 32, in their Glasgow home on March 18.

He left the mother with a black eye and a lump on the side of her head after headbutting her.

A family source previously told The Daily Record that Michelle had ‘made him chicken Kiev and potato waffles the night before and he said she under-cooked the Kiev’.

The source said: ‘That whole of the next day was torture for her – nothing but abuse. He headbutted her at 3.30pm. This is what it all stems from – a chicken Kiev.’

During the attack Michelle’s daughter from a previous relationship ran from the house with the couple’s one-year-old son.

The source added: ‘If it wasn’t for Michelle’s dad and step-mum turning up that day, she may not have left the house alive.’

Howell was given one year community payback order, by Sheriff Margaret Liddle, with the condition that he is supervised

He was also given a two-year non-harassment order – this stops him from being allowed to approach or contact Michelle, report the Sun.

Michelle has been left horrified by the sentence and told the newspaper: ‘He thinks he is invincible.

‘He showed no shred of remorse and said I had made him do it. When he left the court, they were waving at me.’
