Administrators have restarted the break-up of one of Britain’s biggest care home providers. 

Four Seasons Health Care’s Northern Irish arm, which has 42 homes, has been put back up for sale.

The latest sales process is at an early stage and comes as the UK’s care home companies are struggling to stay afloat during the pandemic. 

A source close to the deal said the sale of the operations in Northern Ireland made ‘strategic sense’. 

Four Seasons’ future has been in doubt since 2017, when its owner Terra Firma Capital Partners missed a debt deadline. 

A Four Seasons spokesman said: ‘Our priority remains ensuring the safety of our residents.’
