Frank Ocean arrives at the 2021 Met Gala with a green robot baby in a onesie

Frank Ocean put the spotlight on himself at Monday’s Met Gala in Manhattan when he arrived cradling an eerie robotic baby in his arms.

The 33-year-old pop auteur opted for a nondescript mostly black look, though he had his short hair dyed green to match his diminutive plus one.

The singer was returning to the fashion event after the 2020 Met Gala was canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which also postponed this year’s edition.

Tickets for two: Frank Ocean, 33, had an odd plus one for Monday’s Met Gala in Manhattan — a lime green robotic baby that moved in his arms

Frank had on a black suede Prada vest and a low-key jacket from the same fashion house, as well as matching black jeans.

He wore simple black leather shoes and contrasted the dark color scheme with a white T-shirt peaking out above his vest.

The Sweet Life singer wore a thick chain of silver and diamonds around his neck from his luxury brand Homer, and he also wore diamond earrings.

But it was his baseball cap that may have offered a clue about his bizarre companion.

Frank had on a navy blue hat with the DreamWorks film studio logo, but it read ‘DreamCore’ instead.

The term describes a TikTok aesthetic in which social media stars created sometimes-disturbing videos that play on both nostalgia and off-kilter dream logic.

His animatronic baby would certainly fit in to any video produced in the style

Frank’s companion had pale green skin, and it was covered in a brown-and-black patterned onesie from Homer.

The device was seen moving its arms while Frank held it, and it also had glassy moving eyeballs.

Seeing green: Frank showed off dyed-green hair to match the baby, which wore a onesie from his Homer label. He reportedly cooed and spoke to the baby on the red carpet

The Super Rich Kids singer gave his three million followers a closer look at his freshly dyed green hair as he puffed out his lips.

He should off the completed look minus the baby in a low-key bathroom selfie.

Attendees at the Met Gala this year are required to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

‘Currently, all attendees at The Met Gala on September 13 must provide proof of full vaccination and will also be expected to wear masks indoors except when eating or drinking,’ a spokesperson for The Met said last month.

Frank showed off his mask in a relaxed bathroom selfie that appeared to be taken at the Met.

The theme is In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, though the musician hasn’t always followed the theme closely.

During the 2019 ceremony, which was built around the concept of ‘camp,’ he wore a nearly identical black Prada outfit as this year.

This year’s gala will be a more intimate affair, to be followed by a larger one on May 2, 2022. Both will launch a two-part exhibition, a survey of American fashion to be on view for almost a year.

In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, opening Sept. 18, will celebrate the 75th anniversary of the museum’s Costume Institute and ‘explore a modern vocabulary of American fashion,’ the spokesperson added.

Part two, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, will open in the museum’s popular American Wing period rooms on May 5, 2022, and will explore American fashion, with collaborations with film directors, by ‘presenting narratives that relate to the complex and layered histories of those spaces.’ Both parts will close on Sept. 5, 2022.
