Frankie Bridge reveals I’m A Celeb stars were ‘held in a room’ while show was off-air

Frankie Bridge has revealed I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here contestants were ‘held in a room for ages’ when the show was taken off-air during Storm Arwen.

The stars were temporarily removed from Gwrych Castle due to the extreme weather that caused technical damage to the set in North Wales.

Speaking to Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston on Heart Breakfast, Frankie said she realised something was off when she found her hammock covered in leaves.

She said: ‘We kind of got held in a room in the castle for ages, we had no idea what was going on.

‘I only knew something was a bit off when everything was covered in leaves, even my hammock, I couldn’t see it anymore, so I was like, “that’s going to be interesting”.’

Explaining how the evacuation took place, she added: ‘Eventually in the evening they came in and said “we’re going to have to evacuate you” so we all went to individual houses again like we did when we were in isolation.’

‘We weren’t in touch with the outside world, we weren’t in touch with each other and had absolutely nothing to do. But we were allowed to eat and be warm and wash.

‘I took all of my camp gear and put it all into the washing machine, even my coat. And even my toiletry little bag thing that they gave us and I ironed it all, and I haven’t done that in 20 odd years!’

Frankie revealed the cast have stayed in touch since the show ended with Richard Madeley, who left the castle after three days due to illness, setting up a WhatsApp group.

She said: ‘Richard actually set up a WhatsApp group, it’s called “The Sexy Badgers”, obviously, and everyone’s on there which is so nice!’

The Higher songstress finished in third place on Sunday’s final with Emmerdale’s Danny Miller crowned King of the Castle.

Speaking on Monday’s Loose Women, Frankie admitted there was a ‘bit of confrontation’ between her and Naughty Boy when he was unimpressed with the rice she cooked.

She said: ‘You know what, it was fine. I think we were really lucky. Everyone genuinely got on really well, we fell into this weird, dysfunctional family role very quickly.

‘I’m not someone who cooks, especially rice, I love a bit of microwaveable rice, so I’ve got no idea. There seemed to be some sort of rice gate… I hate confrontation.

‘I was trying to explain to Naughty that the whole rice pudding thing, we’re not saying it’s rice pudding, this is how we just did it previously… but he didn’t let me finish, so it ended up being a slight confrontation, but 10 minutes later, it was absolutely fine.

‘You live at home with the people you love and they annoy you sometimes… We met on the show and had to learn to live with each other very quickly, so these things will happen.’
