Frankston: Bomb unit called to Melbourne court house

  • The package was found on Fletcher Road in Frankston, on Tuesday morning
  • Police bomb response unit attended the scene outside the Magistrates Court
  • A police spokesperson said safety checks are being conducted on the package 

A suspicious ‘device’ has been found near a police station and courthouse in Melbourne’s south-east. 

A police bomb response unit on Tuesday morning attended Fletcher Road in Frankston, where the station and Magistrates Court is located.

‘Police are currently conducting safety checks … following reports a suspicious device was located in the street. The Bomb Response Unit is attending,’ a police spokeswoman said.

Pictures from the scene show an unattended brown bag placed beside the entrance of Frankston Magistrates Court.
