Adrian Mackenzie, pictured arriving at Oxford Crown Court earlier this month, was found guilty by jury of three counts of fraud

A fraudster scammed his own mother out of tens of thousands of pounds and forced her to sell her home to settle his debts.

Adrian Mackenzie, 46, swindled his mother over the course of three years

He blew money from his mother’s bank account and credit cards on a lavish lifestyle.

He denied four counts of fraud but was found guilty by a jury at Oxford Crown Court of three counts on November 23.

Jurors cleared him of a fourth count of fraud after deliberating for six hours.

Ahead of his sentencing, Recorder Ann Mulligan warned Mackenzie a jail term was inevitable.

She said: ‘There is no question it will be an immediate custodial sentence and the question is the length of that sentence.’

Mackenzie, of Banbury, Oxford, will be sentenced at the same court on Thursday.
