French Paypal executive stabbed to death in Dublin flat

A 37-year-old French woman has been found stabbed to death in her apartment in central Dublin in a suspected murder.

The victim, named locally as Anne Colomines, 37, was found dead with multiple stab wounds in the flat she shared with her husband the Irish capital.

Her husband Renato Gehlen, 35, was found seriously injured in the flat, and is currently in hospital, but police are ‘not looking at anyone else at present’.

Gardai was called to Dorset Square in Gardiner Street in Dublin’s north inner city on Tuesday night after a phone call at about 11.30pm on Tuesday.

The victim was found in the kitchen of a flat on the fourth floor of the apartment block,  and pronounced dead at the scene.

Ms Colomines, who headed up an account manager team at PayPal, was originally from France but had worked in Dublin since 2012.

Mr Gehlen, from Brazil,  was found with serious injuries and was immideately rushed to a local hospital.

The couple was first named on Twitter by local journalist Padraig O’Reilly.

Gardai in Dublin has launched a murder inquiry but are treating it as a domestic incident and are not looking for anyone else at present, according to RTE.

The area is currently sealed off for forensic investigation.

Gardai declined to comment on the identity of the victim when contacted by MailOnline.
