Frequent flyers vote British Airways’ ‘Club Suite’ the world’s best new business class seat

British Airways’ new ‘Club Suite’ has been named 2019’s ‘best new business class seat’ by those who know a thing or two about what makes a good cabin – frequent flyers.

Over 4,500 of them voted in the UK’s biggest frequent flyer website’s inaugural airline awards, with the site – www.headforpoints.com – saying BA’s new business class seat represents ‘a genuine step forward’.

It said: ‘British Airways introduced its new business class Club Suite in 2019 to wide acclaim. It would have been easy to go with a less ambitious product since improving on the outdated Club World seat was not difficult, but to its credit BA has taken a genuine step forward. Club Suite is now arguably the best business class seat of any European airline.

The inaugural awards, meanwhile, said headforpoints.com, seeks to highlight ‘the crème de la crème of airline seats, services and lounges, along with airline and hotel reward schemes and other travel innovations that UK business and frequent travellers hold in the highest esteem’.

The 12 category winners voted for by readers were supplemented by six ‘Editor’s Choice’ awards for excellence.

One Editor’s Choice went to ANA for its ‘revolutionary’ business class seat ‘The Room’.

Headforpoints.com said: ‘Japanese airline ANA launched a revolutionary new seat on its London to Tokyo route this year, and it is slowly being rolled out on other key routes.

‘”The Room” is an astonishingly wide seat – so wide that two people can sit side by side to chat. It is complemented by 24-inch 4K IFE screens and retractable privacy screens that can be fully closed if required.’

On Christmas Day, the award for ‘best business class seat and service’ was announced, with Qatar honoured for its ‘Qsuite’, which can be turned into a double bed for travelling couples.

With 1.5million monthly page views, Head for Points claims it has the UK’s biggest online audience of frequent flyers.
