Friends actress who played baby ‘Emma’ shares never-before-seen throwback snaps

Friends first aired in 1994 on NBC and then ran for 10 seasons, quickly becoming one of the most beloved and timeless sitcoms ever created.

And true fans of the series remember the adorable twin babies who portrayed Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) and Rachel Greene’s (Jennifer Aniston) daughter, Emma.

Back in the day little Emma was played by Noelle Sheldon and her twin sister Cali, 16, who this week shared a series of never before seen pictures of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow from set in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary.

Throwback: The character of baby Emma on 90s sitcom Friends was played by Noelle Sheldon and her twin sister Cali , 16, who this week shared a series of never before seen pictures of Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow from set in honor of the show’s 25th anniversary

The now teenage twins shared the role of baby Emma from 2003-2004 and were at the time dubbed ‘the most recognised baby of the noughties.’

And taking to her Instagram this week, Cali fondly looked back on those times by posting behind the scenes photos taken of her with the all-star cast while filming.

In the first photo Cali shared, Jennifer, Courteney and Lisa are pictured sitting on the floor with one of the twins behind held up by Cox.

The three household names smiled for the shot with dozens of baby toys tossed around them.

In it, Jennifer wore a sheer pink shirt and jeans, Courteney rocked a striped long sleeve top and Lisa donned her signature over the top jewelry and a blue patterned shirt.

‘The one where it all began…#friends25,’ Cali captioned the picture.

The Sheldon twin’s role was first introduced during the two-part season eight finale in 2002.

Then the following year the girls took turns playing the role of Emma, who was a result of a one night stand between Jennifer and David’s characters.

Noelle and Cali previously revealed that they weren’t even allowed to watch the show until they were thirteen, confessing: ‘I don’t remember anything about being on the show, but I’ve seen the pictures.’

Their mum Gretchen Carpenter added: ‘Everyone was really, really nice to Noelle and Cali, and treated them like little princesses on the set.

‘[Friends] filmed before a live audience, and Cali and Noelle would come out, and they would be waving and engaging with the live audience. It was a lot of fun!’

Gretchen also revealed that while the twins are still pursuing acting, it is not their top priority.

‘Our girls go to a normal school, and they go on auditions once in a while, but we don’t make it our top priority,’ she told Bustle.

After kick-starting their career at the tender age of one with the major role in the sitcom classic, Noelle and Cali are now successfully making the transition into Hollywood stardom.

The girls’ other roles since the show include a low budget fantasy drama titled Rougarou, another horror titled Agorable, and independent movie Novel Romance.
