Friends say Prince Harry has ‘never been stronger’ as they dismiss claims he is in a ‘fragile place’ after emotionally revealing ITV documentary

  • Sources close to Harry said Royal family had ‘panicked’ after the documentary
  • Prince Harry is thought to have slammed the institution for a ‘lack of support’
  • Was also claimed that the rift between Harry and William is getting worse

Prince Harry is thought to be ‘stronger than ever’ following claims that the royal was in a ‘fragile place’.

It is alleged that the 35-year-old has squashed claims from his brother William, who was reported to have expressed concern for Harry and his wife Meghan Markle.

On Sunday night, ITV aired a documentary which showed the couple on tour in South Africa and highlighted a number of clips of Prince Harry stating his difficulties coming to terms with the death of his mother.

Sources close to Harry are now alleged to have claimed that the documentary ‘panicked’ a so-called ‘out of touch’ royal family.

Speaking to the Sun, the source said: ‘Harry is back at Frogmore Cottage and has never been stronger.

‘This is an institution full of people panicked they may potentially look out of touch and ultimately to blame for a lack of support.’

Another insider also told the Sun that there is ‘an obvious rift between the brothers’ and claimed that it had being ‘getting worse over the past few months.

The rift was solidified by Harry, who when speaking on the documentary said he and his brother were on ‘different paths’, and experienced good and bad days with each other.

Since the documentary aired it has also been reported that a source close to the couple claimed that the pair had ‘single-handedly modernised the monarchy’.

It was also reported that the royal household was ‘inexperienced’ at dealing with Harry and Megan and hadn’t worked out how to ‘deploy their value.

The source told the US broadcaster: ‘The institution around the British royal family is full of people afraid of and inexperienced at how to best help harness and deploy the value of the royal couple who have single-handedly modernised the monarchy.’

The extraordinary comments come after the Duke and Duchess criticised the British media in the ITV documentary, saying they were struggling with the intense scrutiny they face on a daily basis.

Royal commentators this week also revealed The Queen and senior royals are ‘very worried’ about the direction the ‘divisive’ couple are heading.

Jonny Dymond, the BBC’s royal correspondent, said: ‘I think they (the royal family) will be pretty horrified actually.’

And royal commentator Penny Junor described the couple’s actions as a ‘big mistake’.

On Monday it was reported that Prince William and Prince Harry spoke to each other privately after Harry’s emotional ITV interview.
