Front row: A mismatch made in heaven

To celebrate its fifth anniversary, & Other Stories (one of my go-tos for grown-up on-trend styles) has collaborated with cult London lifestyle brand House of Hackney, home of big, beautiful prints and pick ’n’ mix maximalism.

The collection – made largely with sustainable fabrics such as summer-ready organic cotton – is inspired by the zodiac, with 12 looks, each celebrating a star sign. Fingers crossed yours is the print you love most…

THIS WEEK I’M BUYING….

Structured, supportive and striped swimwear, need I say more? If you splash out on one piece this summer, make it this one-piece.

Can you believe these beauties are from Mango?! The colour-pop pick-me-up that every wardrobe needs. I’ll wear them with a white shirt and boyfriend jeans.

ASK EMILY

Q: I have had a mastectomy and am finding it hard to source a summer dress that doesn’t focus on the cleavage. Can you recommend any? Sarah, Southampton

A: After going through all that you deserve to feel fabulous. There are some amazing high-neck dresses out now. Check out labels such as Boden and Joules. The frills on this red dress make it feminine and flattering. For a more minimal option, this blue design by Cefinn in a light, comfortable viscose-mix fabric adds detail with a tie waist. The label also does great shirtdresses, which allow you to choose how high you want your neckline to be.
