Fugitive mocked over his ‘Princess Leia man buns’

The Metropolitan Police has launched an appeal to find this suspect Joseph Longman, 19, who is wanted on suspicion of serious assault, although social media users have mocked him over his uncanny resemblance to Princess Leia from the Star Wars franchise

A fugitive’s ‘man buns’ are being mercilessly mocked online after police issued a photo of a wanted man who locals say looks like ‘Princess Leia on a bad day’.

Hillingdon Police released a photo of 19-year-old Joseph Longman saying he was wanted on suspicion of a serious assault.

A spokesman issued a photo of the teen, complete with ‘man buns’, stating: ‘Fugitive Friday: Can you help us track down Joseph Longman, age 19? He is wanted for a serious assault.’

Locals said it shouldn’t take long to track the teenager down given his distinctive hair-do, which some said looked like Princess Leia – played by Carrie Fisher in the Star Wars movies – or Minnie Mouse.

Writing on the Facebook page of Hillingdon Police, which covers a patch in north west London, Richard Favre wrote: ‘What’s the crime? Doing a bad impersonation of Princess Leia?’

Scott Turnill wrote: ‘How can you not find a guy that’s walking around with Princess Leia’s hairstyle??? Not exactly inconspicuous.’

Craig McGhee wrote: ‘Princess Leia- The Crunk Years.’, and Alan Clayton wrote: ‘He’s going for the Princess Leia look but failing.’

Sammy R wrote: ‘Princess Leia on a bad day – a very bad day.’
