Fulham table £26m bid for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose as alternative to Aleksandar Mitrovic

Fulham have placed a £26million bid for Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose, as they look for potential replacement for targetman Aleksandar Mitrovic ahead of the coming Premier League season.

Jose has been earmarked as a forward who can provide the goals for the coming season, as Fulham prepare for life back in the Premier League. 

Manager Slavisa Jokanovic wanted Mitrovic – who spent last season on loan with the Cottagers – on a permanent move after helping the club get promoted, but a deal has yet to be thrashed out.

After initial enquiries from Fulham for Brazil international Jose, the Spanish side made it known they wanted his £45m buy out clause.

Now the west London club have looked to test the resolve Sociedad’s stance.

Fulham are still hopeful of finalising Aleksandr Mitrovic once he returns from holiday this week, with talks with Newcastle set to continue.

The club has been going about its transfer business however, after recently tying up the £5m signing of Besiktas goalkeeper Fabri.

The 30-year-old Spaniard was at the club’s Motspur Park training ground at the start of the week, and is set to be officially announced later on Tuesday.
