Enzo Fernandez had to be led away after being mocked by a Liverpool fan following Chelsea’s defeat in the Carabao Cup final.
The Argentinian has endured a torrid time at Stamford Bridge since arriving for a British-record £107million fee during Graham Potter’s time in charge of the club in January of last year.
Sunday’s clash offered the former Benfica star his first opportunity for silverware with the Blues but it ultimately wasn’t to be.
Both teams had goals ruled out by VAR at Wembley, and Fernandez scuppered a golden opportunity to give his team the lead when he attempted a backheel rather than playing in a teammate early in the second half.
The game remained goalless deep into extra-time before Virgil van Dijk netted from a late corner to secure victory for the Reds.

Frustrations among from Mauricio Pochettino’s side were palpable following the final whistle, though none more so than from Fernandez as he went to collect his runners-up medal.
As the 23-year-old made the long walk up the Wembley stairs a Liverpool fan called out, ‘Enzo, unlucky lad,’ before bursting out into laughter.
Fernandez was clearly incensed by the provocation and glared directly back at the supporter.
The reaction only served to further erupt the fan into laughter however, and he was then promptly ushered away by his teammate, Jimi Tauriainen.

The fan later shared the footage on social media writing: ‘Can someone get @Enzo13Fernandez some food he must be real hungry, real bitey there only said better look next year wanted to punch me on 200k a week plus n hes just fronted me’
Fernandez wasn’t the only one feeling the pressure after such an agonising defeat, however.
Some supporters on social media noticed that Pochettino appeared to snub Chelsea owner Todd Boehly after the defeat.
