Gold Coast couple Alex and Emily won the 2018 season of My Kitchen Rules on Sunday night in a very close grand finale.
And with only three points separating the victors from the runners-up, viewers have claimed fan-favourites Kim and Suong were ‘robbed’ of the $250,000 cash prize.
Fans expressed their anger on Twitter over apparent injustice against the Melbourne mothers after Alex and Emily were given a ‘perfect’ score by judge Liz Egan despite the panel complaining about their lobster dish being dry and flavourless.
‘They f**ked up the dish!’ Furious viewers have claimed Kim and Suong were ‘robbed’ in the My Kitchen Rules finale after Alex and Emily won the $250,000 prize despite serving dry lobster
‘So Alex and Emily f***ed up the lobster, but got a 10 from that woman’ and ‘How could Liz score Alex & Emily a 10 for the dry lobster dish? Kim & Suong were robbed’ were just some of the strongly-worded tweets.
Other fans compared the judges’ critical remarks from the two teams’ five-course menus, noting Kim and Suong’s slightly overcooked dessert was still praised by the panel of experts.
Pete labelled the lobster dish’s flavours as ‘jarring’, while Manu expressed his signature catchphrase, ‘wheres the sauce?!’ to point to the dish being dry.
