The house also has a ground source heat pump which the estate agent says is a much more sustainable way of using energy.

The current owner is also a collector of classic cars and there is a huge garage which can fit 16 vehicles.

The property was the project of the current owners with construction finishing in 2008 and they have now decided to sell up after their grown-up children moved out of the home.

The couple are building another home nearby which will include further equestrian facilities on the grounds.

‘Our clients bought the plot primarily for its setting around 17 years ago and they finished building this in 2008.

‘They are now selling as their children have flown the nest and they’re moving on to a new project.

‘It’s only a short car drive to Goodwood and coupled with the extensive garaging that is bringing in a different kind of buyer.

‘The thick glass and insulation is fantastic for the environment.’

He added: ‘The grass natural roof has to be tended to once a year and provides the house with a fantastic natural insulation.

‘Likewise the specialist glass works to keep the property warm in winter and cool during the summer months.

‘There is also a ground source heat pump which is much better for the environment.’
