Game Of Thrones and The Exorcist star Max Von Sydow dies at his home in France aged 90

The actor Max von Sydow has died at his home in France aged 90, his agent has confirmed today.  

The actor, known for roles in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Game Of Thrones, The Exorcist and Extremely Loud And Incredibly Close, died at home in France on Sunday.

In a statement today, his agent Jean Diamond said: ‘It is with a broken heart and with infinite sadness that we have the extreme pain of announcing the departure of Max von Sydow, March 8, 2020.’

The Swedish star made his film debut in 1949 before enjoying an illustrious Hollywood career with movies including The Exorcist and Minority Report.  

In 2015, von Sydow joined the cast of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the following year portrayed the mysterious Three-Eyed Raven in Game Of Thrones in 2015.
