Sophie and Joe, 30, confirmed the news in a statement that said they were ‘delighted to announce the birth of their baby’.

The joyous news comes shortly after a source told Entertainment Tonight that Sophie ‘can’t wait’ to become a mother.

‘Joe and Sophie are excited to be new parents and have been enjoying the process of getting ready for their baby,’ the insider claimed.

‘Sophie and Joe have been trying to also stay active going on walks and hiking.’

The insider added: ‘The whole Jonas family is looking forward to showering the new addition with love. Sophie is due soon and can’t wait to be a mom.’

Sophie previously admitted she is ‘loving’ being in quarantine at home with Joe – but the 30-year-old musician feels like he’s in ‘prison.’

Speaking about their time in lockdown, she told Conan: ‘I’m kind of loving it. I’m an introvert, I’m a homebody, if I could stay at home all day I would, so this is great for me.’

‘I see how people are finding it difficult, but I don’t understand how people are really struggling to practice social distancing. I’m like, all you have to do is stay at home and get drunk at home. It’s great.’

‘Joe and I… everything seems to be working out in my favour here because Joe is a real social butterfly and I struggle to lock him down and just spend time with me. It’s like a prison for him, but it’s great for me.’

Sophie and Joe first began dating in 2016, with the couple going Instagram official  in January 2017, when Sophie shared a snap of Joe smoking a cigar on a boat in Miami.

They became engaged shortly after, in October 2017, with Sophie saying in an interview afterwards: ‘It’s lovely to be engaged.

‘Not like I achieved anything, but I found my person, like I’d find a house that I love and want to stay in forever. There’s a sense of peace that comes with finding your person.’

She told Rolling Stone in March 2019: ‘I was fully preparing myself to be single for the rest of my life. I think once you’ve found the right person, you just know.

‘I feel like I’m much older a soul than I am in age. I feel like I’ve lived enough life to know. I’ve met enough guys to know – I’ve met enough girls to know. I don’t feel 22. I feel like 27, 28.

‘Everyone experiments. It’s part of growing up. I love a soul, not a gender.’

The couple then surprised their friends and fans when they tied the knot in Las Vegas on May 1, 2019 after attending the Billboard Music Awards.

They followed it up with an extravagant second wedding a few weeks later in France on June 29 where they exchanged vows again in front of family and friends.
